Overdue Items and Late fees:
Both faculty and staff enjoy full access to the print and electronic resources at Miller Library. The faculty and staff loan period is one semester, although items checked out from the DVD and video collections have a seven day loan period regardless of patron type.
In addition to borrowing materials, faculty and staff also have access to computers, printing, and scanning. Research assistance and study rooms are also available.
Faculty and staff are subject to the same overdue item fees and checkout limits described above.
To promote lifelong learning, Miller Library offers many services to alumni. After registering for an alumni card at the circulation desk, alumni are able to check out up to 10 items at a time. In addition, alumni and members of the public can access Miller Library's e-resources on-campus, use guest computers, and purchase books from the library book sale.
The ATLA Religion, Project Muse, and Sage Premier databases have been made specially available for alumni to use off campus. To access these databases, Alumni must first register here. After registering, the databases for alumni can be accessed on the Alumni Database page with the password provided by library staff.
Guests who belong to a Michigan library that participates in the MeL Visiting Patron program may check out books from Miller Library using their own library card. Visit mel.org to see a list of participating libraries.
Guests whose home library does not participate in the MeL Visiting Patron program may purchase a guest card for $25. This card is valid for one year and will allow guests to check out five books (excluding reserve, non-print, and Curriculum Center items) at a time, subject to the same late fee schedule described above. Please visit the circulation desk with a valid driver’s license or government issued ID to purchase a guest card.
Guest patrons are always welcome to use resources within the library, including the reference computers.
