History

Finding History Books

Books about history can be found in two main ways: by searching the online CU Library Catalog and by browsing the library's collection.

CU Library Catalog

When searching the online catalog, a basic search will let you search by keyword, title, author, subject or call number. An advanced search will let you search by a combination of these fields, as well as by format, language, location, and date.

Library of Congress Classifications

The following Library of Congress classifications may be useful when browsing the shelves at Miller Library for additional materials on history. The majority of the 'C, D, E, F, G' call numbers are on the second floor. Additional materials (such as DVDs, Atlases, and reference books) may be found on the ground floor.

C: Auxiliary sciences of History (Civilization, archaeology, chronology, genealogy, & biography)

D: History (General) & European History

E: US History (general)

F: US history, Canada, Latin America

G: Geography, anthropology, recreation & leisure, customs

To search these titles, use the Advanced Search option, enter your subject or keyword, and then select eBooks as the Material Type.
