Miller library strives to be a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for scholarship. All library patrons should practice common courtesy to one another by:
Patrons who are loud or otherwise disruptive to other library patrons may be asked to leave.
Food and covered drinks are allowed in the library, though discouraged near computers and books. Drinking fountains are provided on both floors: upstairs next to the elevator and downstairs in the lobby next to the restrooms. Please clean up any food debris, spills, etc. Vaping and any use of alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, or illicit substances at Miller Library (and other Cornerstone University facilities) is strictly forbidden.
Along with WIFI access, Miller Library provides several public computers (PC and MAC) intended for research and educational purposes. Cornerstone University students, staff, and faculty should be given first priority for public computer use. Violation of United States and/or Michigan state laws, including copyright laws and software licensing agreements, is strictly prohibited. Library staff reserve the right to monitor the use of all computer access.
Two printers / copiers (LML1 and LML2) are available on the first floor of the library with an additional printer available on the second floor (LML3). All users must be registered with a PaperCut account in order to use these printers. Students, faculty and staff are preregistered and are able to copy using their campus ID cards. Guests and alumni must create a Papercut account and add funds either online or at the Circulation Desk. The cost is $.10 per copy. Color printing is available in the library.
Library group study rooms are available for use by Cornerstone University students, faculty, and staff. Reservations can be made on the library website here.
The staff of Miller Library are happy to provide research assistance to library users on demand or by appointment. Contact the library to learn more.
Miller Library welcomes those with special needs. The library building is equipped with power doors, powered desks, and an elevator. The staff at the Circulation Desk will retrieve items from the stacks for patrons unable to do so and will also supply users with a card to access the upstairs classrooms through the security doors. Please contact the staff at the Circulation Desk if you need assistance.
Miller library offers a Curriculum Materials Center and Junior Library Collection on the second floor and welcomes visitors of all ages. However, children less than 14 years of age should be accompanied by an adult while in the library. Adults must also supervise any child's use of library equipment and resources, including guest computers. Parents are also required to remove children who are disruptive to other library patrons from the library.
Cornerstone University and Miller Library Staff are not responsible for library patrons' personal items or any theft or vandalism they may be involved in. Items left unattended in any part of the library may be removed by library staff and taken to the library's lost & found area located at the first floor Circulation Desk (emptied after each semester).
Individuals who engage in disruptive, aggressive, threatening, inappropriate or destructive behavior or substance abuse in Miller Library may be banned from the library for a period of time at the discretion of library staff. Library staff reserves the right to call on campus security or law enforcement in these situations.
