Alumni & Guest Patron Policies

Alumni Patrons

Anyone who has attended Cornerstone University or Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music may request an alumni library card. Alumni patrons are limited to 10 items checked out at a time. They do not have access to MelCat, interlibrary loan privileges, or off-campus access to electronic resources. Alumni patrons may use electronic resources within the library.
Additionally, there are certain databases available to alumni off-campus. Alumni must register here to receive login information for these resources.

Visiting MeLCat Patrons

Miller Library participates in the MeLCat Visiting Patron program. This reciprocal borrowing feature allows members of participating libraries to use their valid home library card to borrow in-person from another MeLCat Visiting Patrons participating library.

Guest Patrons

Guest patrons are welcome to use resources within the library, including the reference computers. Guests whose home library does not participate in the MeLCat Visiting Patron program may purchase a guest card to borrow books for $25. This card is valid for one year and will allow guests to check out five books (excluding reserve, non-print, and Curriculum Center items) at a time. Please visit the circulation desk with a valid driver’s license or other government issued ID to purchase a guest card.

Ministry Leaders

Ministry Leaders’ Passport is a program implemented by Cornerstone University to help support Christian ministers. Participants in this program are eligible for a library card (equivalent to an Alumni Card) once their application is completed. Contact the Office of the President in the Administration Building to learn more.
